Concerts, Films, Opera and Theatre
Museums are places to be entertained and inspired, and we try to make learning fun and our events unusual. The Brunels did not just build bridges and tunnels, they organised concert parties, dance events, underwater banquets, fairgrounds and shopping arcades. Brunel was not just an engineer, he was an impresario and showman.
Music, theatre and other performances
The museum has played host to many different events over the years. We like to think that we are continuing Brunel’s legacy as a showman and patron of the arts by hosting, concerts, films, opera, theatre, dance performances, and art installations to name a few… Here you will find the list of upcoming music and theatre events that will be held at the museum.
If you are looking for a specific event that does not appear in the list then please go to the main What’s On page, and use the calendar to check for future dates by hovering over or clicking on individual dates.
If you would like to book the museum for your own event then drop us an email with the details.
Thursday 7th March & Thursday 21st March 2018
Dive underground into one of London’s most unusual spaces to enjoy films that celebrate the magic of wild swimming. Midnight Apothecary presents an evening of campfire cocktails, hot toddies, marshmallow-toasting and beautiful short documentaries that explore the joy of water and the great outdoors. What better place to enjoy them than the entrance to Marc Brunel’s engineering masterpiece, the Thames Tunnel: the first tunnel under a navigable river anywhere in the world.
Enjoy delicious streetfood, an introduction to the history of the space and award-winning documentaries accompanied by wild, botanical cocktails made from locally-sourced or foraged ingredients. Our cocktail garden with bonfire and hot toddies will be open all evening.
