Vanessa Bryson – Linocut Prints

Museums are places to be entertained and inspired, and we try to make learning fun and our events unusual. The Brunels did not just build bridges and tunnels, they organised concert parties, dance events, underwater banquets, fairgrounds and shopping arcades. Brunel was not just an engineer, he was an impresario and showman.

I was born in England and moved to the USA in the mid-70’s.  I received my BA in Fine Art from Art College in the UK, with further art education in the US.  In 1996 I moved to Miami, Florida, where I became a studio artist at ArtSouth, a community of up to 40 artists.  I have exhibited throughout the USA.  I returned to the UK in 2011 and moved to Rotherhithe.  I fell in love with the area because of its historic significance and that the area has retained much of its Victorian heritage.  It has inspired me to produce the lino cut prints of the area displayed at the Brunel Museum.
