Totally Thames Festival

My first trip on paddle steamer Dixie Queen and launch of #TotallyThames! The Thames Festival began as street carnival and Brunel once appeared with zombies

I am proud to be driving the yellow truck! The festival has changed and is now a month long celebration of London’s river, with over 150 events ranging from tall ships at Greenwich to cocktails at #MidnightApothecary. The launch was an elegant affair, and on a day when ecology in a cleaned up Thames was the news item, I was pleased to meet politicians and #ThamesTidewayTunnel on board and see a harbour seal off the starboard bow! The journey from Butlers Wharf to Greenwich was a leisurely affair, and of course, this is the route of our own #ThamesClipper heritage boat trip ‘Brunel’s London’, three times a week in partnership with #LondonWalks. The festival brings the river to life with a month-long season of river-related events: art, music, open days, family fun, talks, walks and boats galore. Through September, The Brunel Museum is not only offering river walks and boat trips as part of the festival: we have the ‘hottest pop up cocktail bar in town’ and London’s only underground opera #TroubleinTahiti . Leonard Bernstein started this on his honeymoon, caught between On the Town and West Side Story this is Mad Men set to music.
