Midnight Apothecary’s fourth summer season is upon us!

Hailed in 2015 by Red Magazine and To Do List one of the 24 best places to drink outside in London,  Midnight Apothecary starts its fourth season with a special Midnight Apothecary on Friday 24 April and then every Saturday from 2 May to the end of September. Lovers of Wild Cocktails (now a best selling book), campfires, flowers, riverside sunsets and Greek Souvlaki (yes, really)– you may have found nirvana. Our Cocktail Gardener has been busy infusing, distilling and generally cooking up a storm of brand new cocktail creations based on ingredients in our garden and out in the wild (we cannot wait for you to try them).

This season we are also delighted to welcome back mouthwatering hot delights in the form of I Should Be Souvlaki – two handsome men and their Great Greek Grill. Best friends Tom and Chris will be dishing up delicious authentic Greek pita souvlaki fresh off the grill every Saturday night. Stop by the stall for fluffy bread filled with marinated grilled chicken, pork or halloumi oozing with the scent of garlic, lemon oregano and mint, with chips, tomato, red onion and tzatziki. The perfect accompaniment to our cocktails!

When & Where

Midnight Apothecary is open from May 2nd every Saturday night 5.30pm – 10.30pm (and there’s a special Friday Midnight Apothecary on 24 April, 6pm – 10.30pm).

Entry is £5 by advance ticket only at http://midnightapothecary.designmynight.com/Tickets to the Saturday events will include entry to the museum, complimentary toasted marshmallows, optional guided descent into the underground chamber….and the usual giant flares, hurricane lamps. Money raised from ticket sales will also help raise money for a new entrance and staircase for a new concert hall in Brunel’s huge underground shaft below the cocktail garden and avoid overcrowding in the garden.

More about the Midnight Apothecary

Queen of artfully-designed, plant-powered cocktails……some of the most inspired cocktails in London“.  Kara Rosen, Founder, Plenish Cleanse.

“Welcome to the hottest pop-up cocktail bar in town.”  Pattie BarronEvening Standard

“Midnight Apothecary….already a London institution.”  Victoria Summerley, Editor, Independent on Sunday

“Being in a garden at midnight with campfire and bar has never been so magical.” Richard Reynolds, guerilla gardener, author and founder of guerillagardening.org

The creator of the garden is our favourite Cocktail Gardeneraka Lottie Muir. By day she is the gardener who transformed the garden above Brunel’s famous Thames Tunnel from scrubby wasteland into a magical potager garden teeming with vegetables and flowers. But on special Saturday nights she sheds her gardening gloves and dons her apron to become The Cocktail Gardener, wending her way from flowerbed to bar to rustle up gorgeous cocktails infused and garnished with ingredients from the garden or foraged locally for Midnight Apothecary.

Previous incarnations include woodland martinis, Rhubarbra Streisands, hedgerow sours and the Chelsea Fringe Collins. She only uses premium alcohol, where possible sourced locally, including the fantastic Old Tom gin from Jensen and Hiver Honey beer, both from Bermondsey.
