The pieces exhibited here are a part of the 200 drawings produced by Maha for a book she co-authored recently (details below). Using graphite as a medium, Maha has carefully executed each of these drawings using the negative space techniques. They include some of the very important events and players’ portraits from the history. (Photograph copyrights reserved by various sources).
Maha is a painter and illustrator based in London and has exhibited previously at the Brunel museum. Her solo exhibition at the museum was very successful with all her work selling out. Maha has exhibited her paintings at the Dulwich Artists Open House and the Burgh House Hampstead. She also participated in the Brunel Biennale for the last 2 occasions.
The cricket ground paintings on display include the Dulwich College cricket grounds and the Oxfordshire cricket grounds. The two oil paintings are a part of a wider series that include more village and county cricket grounds from around England.
Developing her work on contemporary portraits in oil, two of her large contemporary portrait paintings were shortlisted at the NOA in 2017.
Maha works as an illustrator and cartoonist for a well-known sports website. She also takes pet portrait commissions. To view a selection of her everyday sketches and other work, find her on Instagram. For commissions (including contemporary portraits) and other enquiries Maha can be reached on: [email protected].
