Director’s Diary: Thames Tunnel Fancy Fair

This week and next week the ground floor of the Museum and the gardens will be full of local children! They are taking part in our 16th annual summer playscheme, and will be having fun looking at the Brunel legacy, the Thames and preparing their acts for the Thames Tunnel Fancy Fair performed on Friday for their parents and carers. First held here in 1852. The Museum will be open as usual for other visitors, but it will be quieter after 3pm!!

This week the inaugural meeting in Bristol of the Brunel Network. Brunel sites all over the country discuss ways of working together to promote the famous dynasty and share resources.
